Dag allemaal,
Op zondag 18 mei vanaf 10.00 uur houden we een sanghadag in het meditatiecentrum in Groningen. ’s Ochtends zullen we gaan kijken naar een live streaming van een lezing over ‘Generosity is the greatest treasure’ en over mandala offering * door Seth Dye.
Zoals bekend richten we ons in het kader van het studieprogramma van het Alomvattende Pad naar Verlichting op de Ngöndro. Daarbij zijn we nu toegekomen aan mandala offering. De Ngöndro of voorbereidende beoefeningen bereidt ons voor op dzogchen, het hoogste onderricht in de Tibetaans boeddhistische traditie.
Het luisteren naar onderricht kan erg helpen, maar het allerbelangrijkste is dat we het ons ook echt eigen maken door erop te reflecteren en te mediteren. Als we dat samen doen en elkaar hierin ondersteunen kan dat extra kracht geven en kan het ook in ons dagelijkse bestaan gaan leven en ten goede komen aan onszelf en degenen met wie we in contact komen.

* Mandala offering. One of the most powerful ways of creating the conditions for awakening is that of cultivating generosity. And of all the practices for cultivating generosity, one of the most extraordinary, is the practice of Mandala Offering.
Praktische informatie
Seth Dye was born in France to American parents. At the age of 16, he moved to the US, where he went on to complete a thesis in biology on sustainable agriculture and work in different jobs in this field. In 1994 he encountered Tibetan Buddhism and met Nyoshul Khenpo in Lerab Ling, Rigpa’s retreat centre in southern France. He has been a Rigpa student ever since. Seth has been closely trained by Sogyal Rinpoche as master of ceremony, as well as by many other teachers, and has been supporting Rinpoche in his travels, teachings and public events for many years. He oversaw the construction of the Lerab Ling temple and sacred decoration, and has played a role in helping to establish the Vajrayana tradition in Rigpa, including as an instructor. Recently Seth has overseen the construction of stupas in Lerab Ling, Dharma Mati, Sukhavati and Dzogchen Beara. He is a member of Rigpa’s Vision Board.
